Welcome to the University at Buffalo! Whether you’re looking to complete a requirement, get ahead in your studies, or explore something entirely new, consider taking winter classes at UB. We offer a vast array of over 200 courses both on campus and online.
UB is a premier, research-intensive public university dedicated to academic excellence. Our research, creative activity and people positively impact the world. UB is the premier public research university in the northeastern United States and the largest and most comprehensive campus in the 64-campus SUNY system. We’re an established leader and are consistently recognized by top university guides and publications for our excellent value and high-quality academics.
Courses are offered throughout winter session. We recommend that you check with your academic advisor at your home campus about the applicability of the courses you select (for your degree program). If you need assistance from UB with course selection, please contact the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Academic Advising office and our friendly staff can assist you. Should the courses you seek fall outside of Arts and Sciences, the staff will assist you in making the connections needed.
The 2017 Winter Session application opens October 1, 2016. If you are interested in taking courses at UB, but are not looking to pursue a UB degree at this time, then you are considered a non-degree seeking (non-matriculated) student. Non-degree seeking undergraduate and graduate students will be limited to a maximum number of credits per semester. Please contact the Registrar’s office for any non-matriculation application questions.

Tuition and Fees
Winter 2017 tuition and fees are located on the Student Accounts website. Winter tuition and fee charges for individuals who are not enrolled as matriculated students at UB in the current fall 2016 semester are calculated based upon the type of course selected (undergraduate/graduate/professional), the number of credit hours, and by residency (New York State resident/non-resident). It is important to review the academic and financial regulations before you register for classes, so that you completely understand your obligations.
